SORA Roadmap: Token Repackaging, Hub-Chain, and DeFi Upgrades
SORA Update #87 highlights the 100× token change, Hub-Chain progress, Polkaswap multi-sig, SORA Card euro swaps, and builder updates.

 TL;DR
- 100× token repackaging is live on the SORA network — balances auto-convert when bridged in.
- Hub-Chain architecture and the Fujiwara testnet push SORA v3 forward, expanding interoperability and validator testing.
- Polkaswap introduces multi-signature swaps with time-locked expiry.
- SORA Card enables instant crypto ↔ EUR swaps — XOR pair coming soon.
- Builders gain new tools from Ceres, Demeter, TONSWAP, and the SORA RFP Board.
- Real-world pilots grow: Palau blockchain bonds and PNG CBDC trial.
🪙 Latest Network Update (October 2025):
The SORA Network has since completed its 1 : 1,000,000 denomination update and launched version 4.7.1, which reduced transaction fees and improved validator synchronization.

1. 100× Token Repackaging — Why It Matters
The community-approved referendum redenominated every 100 XOR → 1 XOR and 100 TBC → 1 TBCD.
The change only affected assets inside the SORA network; legacy tokens on Ethereum or other chains convert automatically when bridged in.
Quick Start
- Bridge legacy XOR into SORA.
- Watch your displayed balance shrink (digit-wise) while value stays the same.
- Enjoy fewer decimal headaches when trading or sending.
For a deeper dive, see Understanding the TBCD and Its Role in the SORA Ecosystem.
2. Hub-Chain Architecture — The Rails of SORA v3
SORA v3 centers on a Hub-Chain that allows central banks, institutions, and permissionless dApps to interoperate on neutral ground.
For a deeper architectural overview, see the SORA Wiki: Hub-Chain (https://wiki.sora.org/sora-v3).
| Benefit | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Resilience | Economic activity isn’t bottlenecked by a single national infrastructure. |
| Local sovereignty | Each participant maintains independent policy control at the edge. |
| Inter-network plumbing | Asset creation, private transfers, and cross-chain swaps come standard. |
“The Palau blockchain savings-bond project shows how decentralized tech can bring efficiency, security, and transparency to national economies. By working with governments, we’re taking big steps toward financial accessibility for everyone.” — Dr. Makoto Takemiya, Co-Founder of SORAMITSU
3. Fujiwara Testnet — Hands-On With the Future
The Fujiwara Testnet serves as the proving ground for SORA v3’s Hub-Chain and Hyperledger Iroha 2 integration.
It allows developers and early validators to test new transaction logic, governance modules, and interoperability bridges in a sandboxed environment.
Fujiwara is not rebuilt weekly and no longer uses manual bootstrap scripts.
Participation is coordinated through the official SORA Wiki and community governance channels, where public validator access will be announced. For underlying ledger details, review Hyperledger Iroha 2 docs (https://iroha.readthedocs.io/).
Key Goals
- Validate Hub-Chain message-passing and subnet configuration.
- Test Iroha 2-based accounting precision and multi-asset handling.
- Prepare the migration path from SORA v2 (Substrate) to SORA v3 (Iroha 2 Hub).
Follow Fujiwara developments via SORA’s Discord and governance threads — public participation will expand as the network matures.
4. Polkaswap 2.0 — Multi-Sig + Expiry
Polkaswap now lets users create multi-signature orders (up to 15 signers) with a built-in expiry block that automatically cancels stale trades.
This feature strengthens DAO treasuries, shared vaults, and multi-party swaps.
Learn more in the Polkaswap Docs (https://docs.polkaswap.io).
Quick Start
- Go to Settings → Security → Enable Multi-Sig.
- Add co-signers’ SS58 addresses.
- Tick Auto-cancel after and select a block number.
5. SORA Card — Crypto ↔ EUR Goes Live
Version 1.3 of SORA Card unlocks instant swaps between USDC, ETH, BTC, XRP, and Euros.
XOR integration is scheduled for the next sprint.
Why It Rocks
- No extra KYC loop — reuse your existing SORA Card identity.
- Same-day SEPA withdrawals during banking hours.
- Unified P&L export: EUR ledger entries appear beside crypto transactions.
Availability: SORA Card currently serves residents of the European Economic Area; global rollout remains on the roadmap.

Quick Glossary
| Term | One-Line Definition |
|---|---|
| XOR | Native utility & governance token of the SORA network. |
| TBCD | Token Bonding Curve Dollar — a stable asset minted by burning XOR at $1 parity. |
| PSWAP | Polkaswap’s liquidity-mining & fee-rebate token. |
| Hub-Chain | Backbone of SORA v3 linking permissioned and permissionless networks while preserving local sovereignty. |

7. Governance & Real-World Pilots
Teams are shaping Hub-Chain fee models that balance retail affordability and institutional compliance.
Active real-world pilots include:
- Palau Blockchain Bonds — tokenized savings bonds running on SORA v3 infrastructure.
- PNG Digital Kina — a CBDC proof-of-concept built on Hub-Chain rails using Hyperledger Iroha 2.

8. How to Get Involved 🚀
- Join the Fujiwara testnet: Follow the validator/tutorial info in the SORA Wiki and watch for public slot announcements.
- Try Polkaswap multi-sig with expiry: Multi-sig is live in the UI; signature aggregation works with the Fearless Wallet browser plugin. Setup steps are linked from the wiki.
- Kick the tires on SORA Card (crypto ↔ EUR): Swaps for USDC/ETH/BTC/XRP ↔ EUR are live; XOR is slated for a future release. The AMA recap is linked from the announcement.
- Propose work via RFPs: Submit ideas and improvements through the SORA Request for Proposal repos; governance curates proposals with community input.
- Join the dev community: Hop into the Decentralized Development channel on the SORA Discord and follow the Integrated Plan summary in the wiki.
FAQs
Will my old XOR on Ethereum auto-convert?
Yes. When you bridge legacy XOR into the SORA network, the bridge automatically converts it to the new denomination — no manual steps required.
Does the Hub-Chain mean SORA is abandoning Polkadot?
No. SORA v3 runs alongside the existing Polkadot-based SORA v2. A bridge will connect both, while the Hub-Chain adds a neutral settlement layer for sovereign participants.
How can I test Fujiwara today?
Validator guides and tooling are documented in the SORA Wiki. Public validator access will be announced through official governance channels.
How do Polkaswap multi-sig orders work?
Multi-sig orders require a threshold of co-signers (up to 15) to approve before execution. You can enable this in Polkaswap under Settings → Security. See the Polkaswap Docs for details.
Is SORA Card available outside Europe yet?
Not yet. Physical and virtual cards are currently limited to residents of the European Economic Area. A global rollout is planned; see the restricted countries list for updates.
Final Thought
From cleaner token units to enterprise-grade rails, SORA is laying the groundwork for a border-agnostic financial stack.
Whether you’re a central-bank engineer or a meme-coin degen, there’s fresh code to hack on today — so fire up that terminal, join the community, and help shape the New Economic Order.
